What a fantastic adventure!I have been telling everyone back here how much fun we had, how DANGEROUS it was, about charting new territory on motorcycles, what I learned about the history of the Ho Chi Minh trail and how the North Vietnamese struggled to keep it open and the Americans struggled to close it down.
I told them about riding on dirt trails through the jungle and across streams and rivers, swimming in the Mekong. I told them about the beautiful scenery, waterfalls and temples we saw. I told everyone all this with a great deal of excitement and enthusiasm and how they should contact you and do the ride. The funny thing is that, while I was telling everyone how great the trip was, I was standing there with scabs all over my body, my leg was swollen and stiff and I had a slight limp, my upper back and neck was so sore I couldn't turn my head, I was jet-lagged and had a cold so I looked like hell and had absolutely no energy and, at the same time, I was showing them pictures of me standing by B52 bombs, land mines, cluster bombs and a SAAM missile. I guess my point is that, with me as your spokesman, the phones at Explore Indochina will not be ringing off the hook!
Looking forward to the next trip - maybe Mongolia????
